Investigating the Plagiarism Awareness among Malaysian undergraduates in Summative Assessment

This preliminary study explored the level of plagiarism awareness among Malaysian undergraduates when carrying out their summative assessment. In field language assessment, assessment in form graded task is regarded as an effective tool to exercise change it could highly influence teaching and learning. However, concern regarding students’ behaviour increasing despite exposure given them by respective instructors. Therefore, this aimed fill gap investigating if there was any relationship between perceived with Turnitin similarity index score assessments. The under investigation argumentative essay. Using a quantitative approach, student questionnaire document analysis were utilised elicit data from 30 undergraduates. It found that although students appeared be aware plagiarism, practices indicated otherwise.
